Hey guys, this is my first post and I was going to get a complete Alpine type-R setup and I was told by someone in my truck club that there are alot better speakers out there and to come over here and check you guys out because there are some pretty knowledgable guys here and they can help me out...

Well, A little background:

I drive a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 4 door

Alpine 9885 deck

Soundwave 6.5's in all 4 doors

Type R sub

This is my door speaker amp: http://www.ugotadeal.com/product_info.php?products_id=3344&ref=froogle

This is my current sub amp (going to get a Alpine M500 soon) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sony-CAR-AMPLIFIER-XM-1502SX-XPLOD-760W-AMP-NEW_W0QQitemZ290308105149QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090406?IMSfp=TL090406124004r26479

I have heard of Image Dynamics and Boston Acoustics and how clear they sound, but I wanted to get yall's opinion on what I should be looking into...

I currently have the door speaker wired up at 4ohms (each speaker on its own channel) but I guess since the amp is 2ohm stable x 4, i could potentially go that route if thats what yall recommend.

I really dont have a budget per say, but I think about 100bux a speaker (x4) is what im kinda gearing too... but if there is a speaker thats 150bux that OMG amazing, i should be able to do that.

Let me know what you guys think, and thanks in advance!

-David

Sorry for the confusion...

The amp is 1000w x 4 and it SAYS its 250w RMS @ 2ohm x4 or 175w RMS @ 4ohm x4... since its a 1000w amp, i actually think thats the MAX wattage NOT the RMS.

I know a little about car audio and im still a noob on ALOT of stuff.

Are you suggesting instead of spending 200bux per set for 2 sets of component speaker to instead buy ONE set of 400 dollar speakers for the front doors?

Since you are implying that Image Dynamics is a good choice to go with, would maybe sticking THESE SPEAKERS in the fronts AND rears would be a good option too?

Thank you for your feedback,

-David

^^^yes i think any of the ID"s for starts will be good, you dont need rear speakers.

having a good front stage will make you appreciate your music more,

1) first take your time to try to learn as much as you can about the gear you want to buy.

2) always ask questions to find out how to do something right.

3) you should try to go a local shop to see what they have,-no not best buy, listen to there sounding broad, dont let anyone tell you what sounds good to your ears.

4) install is very important,so you'll need deadener as well, sealing you doors is a start.

5) the best installs are if you learn to do it yourself.

just some basic

try to search google for more info.

Thanks alot for the info!!

might be a dumb question, but If I get some 3-400 dollar front speakers and just keep the midrange speakers I have in now for the back, will that sound back? also, when I deaden the doors, should I just worry about the front doors or the rears too?

Thanks for the help, very much appreciated!

Yes

lol

Yes to get 3-400 dollar ID speakers?

what about what to do with rear speakers? keep the ones I have in there? get new ones that compliment the front speakers?

What about sound deadening? Should I deaden the rear doors too or double the deadening on the front?

Thanks
