The serial # has been changed to protect the distributer, the reason for that is Focal wants their products sold at full retail and if the product is sold below retail Focal will take the line away. So that is why they change the #'s. We have been selling Focal for close to a decade and haven't any complaints but praises from our customers thanking us for the great service and prices. It makes sense, If I were a dealer, I would rather sell 10 units at my price than 1 unit at MSRP, this will then bring more business to me!

Many brands like Focal are very strict on price fixing, they want every dealer in the country to sell a product for the same exact price of full retail. This way consumers are forced to pay the full msrp price tag and the shops make a huge chunk of profit on every product sold. When a company comes along that is selling below the suggested msrp price the manufacturer will find who is selling the product and cut them off and that is why the serial numbers are removed.
