I just hooked my system up (after replacing a bad amp) and it sounds very quiet. I even turned the bass all the way up on the HU and turned the bass boost up and its still quiet. Could the box be to small? Its prob only .75 cubic foot. Its got a 12 mmats pro in it wired @ 8 ohms. I know that its prob only getting like 200 rms but its still realy quiet, my 6x9's seem to have more bass. Is it a box issue?

wanted to add that gains are about 60%.

if everything sounded good with the old amp and it changed after the install on the new amp, its more then likely the amp, may just be too small

try turning your gain up. I would turn the HU bass boosts to flat though. these affect all your speakers, including your 6x9's. A small box doesn't help the efficiency of your sub, and the 8 ohm load doesn't help either. what amp is it?

You may have wired the coils out of phase on the sub. How exactly did you wire it?

sorry for not including the amp. It is a visonik 1802A. The way i wired the sub up is one of the + to one of the - on the sub, then the other 2 to the amp bridged. This is the first system i have put in my truck.

when wiring in series, make sure the + of one coil goes to the - of the OTHER coil and vise versa.

so do you have a dual 4 ohm sub? If so, why not running everything parallel and go 2 ohms instead of 8

The reason im running it @ 8 ohms is because i have a 2 channel amp and bridged it only can go to 4 ohms. would it be ok if i run 1 channel to 2 ohms?
