Is this average volt drop?

Ok, noobish question, I have a 99 toyota tacoma stock electrical. I just got a Sundown SAZ 1500 running at 2ohm load full tilt, I have it ran on knu's 0/1 ga KLM wire, with also a new 0/1 ga battery to chassis ground. With the truck running my voltage is dropping at the battery from 13.7ish to 13.4ish. I kinda thought that I would **** more juice than that. Granted my vehicle has no power accesories and it's a 5 speed. It's going to be ran at 1 ohm soon though.

The reason why I ask is that I kinda want to get my frontstage off of HU power and amp them with something like a JL 300/2 running about 80 rms a side. I dont want to have to run a larger alt. I was wondering If you guys think that I could run it off stock electrical? I know the JL runs 11-14V if I remember correctly. 11 or 12V on the Sundown. Or is this way too hard on my electrical?

Checked today. 50 or 60hz test tone. With music turned off I get 14.08v at the battery. Crank the bass and at the amp It goes from 14.08v to about 13.8v at the amp terminals. Suffiecient enough to put a JL 300/2 or 300/4 on a seperate run of 4ga?

you'll be fine, just add a second battery to your cabin and you'll be fine w/o the need of an HO alt.

shit your voltage drop is nothing. mine would be in the upper 13's and drop to the upper 11's fairly quickly depending on the music.

I figure I could give it a whirl without a battery. I should drop a bit lower when I bring it to 1 ohm on the sundown, but I think I may pick up a JL 300/4 so I can run active later if I want. I figure If I get too much dimming I could always throw like a Kinetic 600 or 800 to help it out.

Well, I went ahead and bought a JL 300/4 on ebay. I guess I'll find out how it takes toll on my electrical. Now one question.

I have one run of 1/0 ga. back there. Should I run a 8 or 4 ga for the amp separate? Or get a distribution block and run a 1/0 to sundown and a 4ga to the JL? If distribution block, recommend a good block that can go 1/0 in to 1/0 and 4 out.

Know of any db's that have a 0 in and a 0 and 4 out?

I was looking at the Knu 4ga kit, and it's like $48ish for some 4ga and RCA's and everything, would I be cheaper running a kit from them?
