got that same e-mail from craigslist also when i put some things up for sale. dont ever deal with them, its the 419 scam just like in the link dragnix posted.

Do people actually fall for scams like this?

If the writing doesn't make sense it was probably written by some ******** in Nigeria or Benin sitting in an internet cafe posting pictures of himself as a hot chick to trick men into sending them money.

Anyway, I like to seriously identify the people I am doing business with online.

I posted For Sale section on craigslist audio equipment of 450 dollars.Got a check from this guy for $1500(overnight ups). A "company" check he says , says on the check University of some name.

( A3717836660 ) , I already tracked it and i see that its in transit so it would deliver to you in the A.M so you can also track it and know the status at http://www.ups.com/us. As soon as the payment is been delivered to you , I don't want you to hesitate to take the payment to your bank and get it deposited then you make a partial withdrawal of the excess on the payment after calculating how much you will remove. I will want you to do this partial withdrawal instantly you get to the bank after depositing the check.. The Mover wants me to send the shipping funds as soon as possible to show some commitment that am still doing pickup by them , as soon as you get the funds across to them via Wester Union Office, You get back to me with the information gathered from the western union office such as , Sender's name and address, MTCN # and the the mover make me understand that the western union will remove some charges for transfer so you also get back to me with the amount sent after western union remove their transfer charges, as soon as i get all this information , I will forward it to them for confirmation and they will get in touch with you via email or by phone to schedule the pickup time with you.Here is the information of the senior accountant of the Mover firm to send the funds to via western union .
