is passlock failure connected to car audio?

ok here is the deal. i bought a 98 blazer a few days ago. i took everything out of my old car and took it to the installer so they could install it and an alarm(WITHOUT REMOTE START). ok last night they installed everything but my door speakers. everything was working fine even the alarm. today i take it up there to have the door speakers put in. the car is running as they pull it out of the shop to get my sirius working. they pull it back in and cut it off,,,,the security light comes on the car wont start. call a mechanic and he automatically said your passlock took a shit on ya. call the place where i bought it and he says it isnt his problem that the stereo shop screwed it up? is that even possible seeing as the passlock is located in the ignition cylinder?

did the car ever start back up? The only way to tell is to have a look for yourself. And if it was the passlock the car would not have run that long, it would have started back up and immediately cut off.

thats what it did,,,its still in the shop

from what I remember the passlock crap makes the car go in to a "tamper mode" which prevents the car from starting for a couple mins. if it keeps being messed with it goes in to a "long tamper mode" and the car can't be started for a good while.. but that should not happen because they did not install the remote start portion of the alarm.

Does it have an aftermarket receiver? When I put on in my 2001 Alero is started a string of passlock issues here n there. Seems it likes having the radio interface plugged into the stock radio better than an aftermarket plug.

Like said above if the remote start portion wasnt installed it cant be passlock oriented, but check whoever installed the alarm they could of did part of the remote start by accident.
