Is my head unit defective?

I recently had an Alpine CDE-SXM145BT installed into my '01 Chevy Impala and I'm having a weird issue where I'm getting full sound from my car speakers and subs when I choose the "Tuner" (radio) source but no sound from my speakers (only subs) through any other source such as "AUX", "Bluetooth" or even just a reg CD. What could be the problem? The installer looked confused and didn't know how to fix the issue. If there's sound coming from one source why would the other sources not work? Any help is greatly appreciated!

You can disable AUX for example. You can also adjust each inputs volume level. Check all the "setup" settings starting on page 20.

Ok thank you for the direct link but I've basically fiddled with all of the settings on the unit, is there something I'm missing? Can you tell me specifically what settings I should be trying? I wasn't aware you can disable AUX? How do you do that? I did find the settings where you can adjust each inputs volume and I turned those up and still only bass from subs hmm, any other suggestions? Should I just go into a shop and have them troubleshoot the issue?

sounds like he has the factory amp turn on wire connected to the wrong wire off the back of the head unit. Pull the radio out and move the factory amp turn on from the blue to the blue/white stripped wire.

btw if that went over your installers head I would find a different installer.
