Is listening to metal detrimental to my sub?

What sub you running? The reason I got rid of my RE SEs is because they didn't seem fast enough for drums to me. Maybe I'm expecting too much though.
Some piece of crap 10" that came with the car. It bumps though. I have two 12" Kicker Comps that I'm installing soon.

i argue with metal heads all the time about 15's and metal music. they insist that they aren't as "tight" as 10's or 12's. i love the sound of a 15 in a ported box. i usually drop about .25-.5 cubes under the largest optimal enclosure for the sub. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/drool.gif.b5e863e893038027711d4402f340dad0.gif nice, tight, and deep when i want it.

at one time they were not,but over the last decade or so sub companies have really stepped up to the plate on making 15 and larger subs sound good with anything.
