Is it worth to upgrade speakers and reuse stock H/U?

Hi like tittle say, as I'm considering upgrading but I would like to be able to use the controls on the steering wheel, like volume, Bluetooth, tuner etc...

As my understanding no aftermarket unit works with a stock unit wires.

Or is there's one that works?

BTW I have a Mitsubishi outlander sport 12

Thanks.

i would keep the stock hu especially in these newer cars, changeing out the speakers can only help, also you can change out that hu useing the stock wires but when you add up the cost of the deck the dash kit and all the modules you would need to get it working right it would not be worth it to me

You also need to know the stock units impedance to the speakers. For instance if your deck is a 2 ohm deck and you use 4 ohm speakers. It won't be as loud. And if it's a 4 ohm deck and you use 2 ohm speakers then it would be louder but can damage your deck

which model do you have? navi? Rockford system? base? just the kit itself is ~$100, to retain steering wheel controls is about $50-100, plus the harness but that depends on which model you have. once you change out the factory head unit you'll lose your factory bluetooth button and controls but you can get the feature back by getting a head unit with bluetooth. so if you're ready to shell out $200 in just installation parts plus cost of the radio you want plus either the cost of install or if you do it yourself the cost of installation parts like crimp caps or heat shrink and solder. you're easily looking at $400 to get a radio installed considering you get a decent aftermarket radio like a Clarion CZ702 or Kenwood 755 (my 2 recommendations for single din) or Clarion CZ501.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Don't see the trim on the outside so I assume it is the lowest one. It have tweeter on the front pillar, plus speaker on the front and rear doors. No Navigation, pure base model.

So it seem that now days you can get and aftermarket unit and still be able to use the steering controls.

Would I have to pull the unit out to find out the impedance?

What motivate me are the roads here, there a section that I have to rise the volume all the way then it sound like crap, plus the cabin noise from the road wind etc..

It all started when I was looking for a way to quiet the cabin, I saw all the different brand of sound deadeners and how to install them. Since I will be removing all that I might as well replace the speakers but it seem that everyone that do that get rid of the stock H/ unit.

That why I am asking the pros.

Would you guys say I can get a nice build with $600-700

Or how much would I need?

Thanks.
