I have a 1999 single cab silverado. I would like to purchase a in dash dvd for it but i do not want the flip out kind. i want the double din size ones. But the opening for my stock am/fm HU looks way to small for a double din to fit. Is it possible to install one without major modifications like cutting the dash bezel etc....

no not with out any mods. you only have a din and a half. they do make half din dvd players though so that can work

Ok yea thats what i wanted to know becuase. I wanted it to fit flush and have a 7" screen but i guess it wont work, so ill probly just get a flip out then

I have read of people having problems with the flipout screens hitting the shifter in the Silverado. Looking at mine I can see how it might happen.

yea thats only when its in park really its no hassle at all my buddy has one

You just have to go into settings and tell it to not open automatically upon start. It is fairly involved to flush mount a 7" screen in dash.
