is it possible to do this?

hmm seem like i should hook it up to my remote wire and not my power wire. Even then, should i use a relay between the remote wire and power wire? or should i just run maybe a 16 gauge wire to my battery, to a fuse, then to a switch, then through the leds? i wont have to use a relay then right?

you can def. run a dedicated line from the battery through a switch. Fuses are you friend as well. no need for a relay that way, but you will have to switch it on and off manually

if i was to run 16 gauge wires, how big should the fuse be? 1A, 5A, etc?how about the switch? 50mA 500mA, 1A, etc?

Get a power relay switch and wire it up. The same remote wire to your amps.. You might want two relays. one to boost the remote and split it to all the equipments you are running, then run one remote line from the relay to the other relay and off that wire your LEDS, This way you have no power drag. Go to http://www.the12volt.com and search RELAYS. it shows you how to use them. In case you havent figure it out, you will be running a separate power line for these relays so you dont take away from you amps need juice supply. GL

imma just run a separate 16 gauge wire from my battery since imma place my switch next to the center console. i rather go this route then using relays. It sounds more of a hassle using relays than running a separate power wire. anybody know the fuse rating i should put on the 16 gauge? and the specs for my switch, 50mA 500mA, 1A, etc?
