Is it just me....

Or has ebay gone insane with actually enforcing their rules lately?

I've never, ever, once had an auction taken down, or even gotten an e-mail concerning ebay's 'rules' (i never knew they had any when i got a $550 phone stolen from me via paypal, and was never issued a refund for a car-deal gone bad, i wont even get into how much that set me back, but let's just say i'm still in debt)

But in the last week or so, i've had an auction cancelled twice for the same item. I've been trying to sell my remote install beltronics Rx75 plus radar detector, because the one, sole place, that i wanted to mount it in my ride is an unmarked airbag //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif and the thing's crazy expensive.

First, it was taken down without so much as an e-mail to explain. I had to write ebay an e-mail to find out what was up, and it turns out beltronics themselves ordered the auction be taken down because i used a stock photo, and not my own. So now already set back 5 days, i went to walmart, bought a new xD card for my camera, took a pic of the open box, with all the parts inside, and a piece of paper with my user name on it, and reposted.

Today it's been taken down again!!!! No explaination this time either, i have to write ebay another e-mail.

Now it's been over a week since i started trying to sell this stupid thing, and it looks pretty **** suspicious to would-be bidders when your auctions keep getting taken down and reposted.

Has anyone else run into snags lately trying to sell on ebay?

They used to practically go out of their way to HARBOR thieves and scammers, and now i can't manage to keep a legit, good-willed auction open for more than a few days without it being taken down.

Just curious if this is a widespread phenom lately?

Just you, they have you flagged. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gif

oh my god...

i relisted, it was taken down again, this time because i used the word 'jammer' in my listing, and paypal coincidently froze the $400 payment i got for my L7's due to 'suspicious activity'

this is ****ing ridiculous

there really isn't an alternative to ebay or paypal, tho, so to the phone i go.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i may as well refund the dude his $400, cause i don't feel good about shipping him the speakers if i can't withdraw from my account, and i have no idea how long this is going to take to resolve

school starts on monday, and i'm $600 short for tuition

thanks ebay!!!

Your paypal account will probably be frozen for six months.

Refund his money now, tell him to send a money order....

Google search for paypal problems, theres a few other sites devoted to the thieves.

As for ebay, I was trying to sell a clifford alarm a while ago- DEI told them to cancel it, because it was their product......

So, apparently even after you BUY a product, the company you just paid can tell you if youre allowed to sell it or not. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

That is some scary stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i have numerous auctions closed for selling jordans. was contacted by ebay saying that i couldn't sell them because nike didn't approve or whatever. paypal sucks too, they still owe me like $850 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

eh, i sent the guy his money back, i didn't mention money orders, tho, i just apologized and told him i didn't want him to have to wait

i think stores selling beltronics radar detectors must be paying royalties to bel, or are direct vendors

i never would have bought a ******* $650 radar detector if i knew i couldn't resell it

it wont even work in my car, without putting it somewhere ugly, and mangling my front bumper

the paypal situation is ludacris, tho

i called them on the phone today, and they told me i had to write them an e-mail to request the winning bidder of the L7's be given a refund, because i couldn't even transfer the funds BACK TO THE GUY WHO SENT IT TO ME

money orders are risky, imo, and i think the idea of paypal is great, but if their idea of taking action against 'suspicious activity' is to keep supect stores from giving money BACK to customers, then i can't honestly say i'm seeing eye to eye with them, the entire 'security' situation is blatantly 100% slanted toward ebay's interests in collecting their dues, and NOT in the favor of the bidder, OR the seller
