Is direct deposit instantly usable??

Alright, so friday I was supposed to get my first paycheck from UPS. Direct deposit, all info is correct. Here it is early monday and still no paycheck (146 bucks so i can pay off some people //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif) I see my online paycheck review thing that says it was "on 8/15/08" Now I'm trying to figure out where my money is. Do you think there is a chance they just mailed something instead or maybe it just takes this long sometimes?

It may take a pay period or two for direct deposit to kick in.

like psycho said it usually takes 2 pay periods. it took that long for my Chase and Harris accounts.

direct deposits depending on banks should be in your account on that same payday.

the checks they issue are not issued out on friday(payday). they are issued/printed out days before. they just don't reach you till friday. anyways as mentioned depending on the date that your signed up for DD it may not take effect for up to 2 weeks.

DD is the best way to go man. at work our paydays are fridays, though the bank that pays us sends out DD's on wendsday. being with the bank i'm with my money is in my account on Thursday at 3pm. other peoples banks it will be available at like 12pm friday.

well shit. i signed up for direct deposit when i took the job so i would think it would be in effect immediately, and i believe thats also what they told us....

usually when you get direct deposit from a company they send your bank the money in time so that you have your money the day everyone else at your work gets paid. the last two places i worked we got paid friday, but my work made the direct deposit transactions wed morning and by friday afternoon the money was in my account ready to use.

for the last couple months ive been collecting unemployment and the unemployment site says "paid" on monday morning, and the money is in my account ready to use by tues night, usually around 10pm or so.

I have direct deposit. Payday is Thursday, is usable in my account Friday.

You will almost never get your first pay check direct deposit. First check is almost always paper.

My direct deposit goes in at midnight and is available that coming day. I was at a bank quite a few years ago that would hold the deposit for a few days though....I quit that bank in a hurry.
