Is a VX2200d for $250.00 a good deal?

My buddy just bought a VX2200d off IonSQL which by the way was great dealing with him!

The amp is refurbed with a few tiny scratches but no big deal. He wants to sell me the amp for $250 and move onto a Hifonics amp. Is this a good deal?

i off course will be in debt and i have no subs for now but hes a good friend of mine and im building his new system for him anyways.

The amp does have a burnt smell to it but this might just be the reason it was sent to get refurbished anyway. It works, powers up fine, runs a DD3512 at 1 ohm without getting to hot very well.

So the question is to invest or not to invest?

eventually i will be getting a system in a new car(who knows when that will happen) and i wouldn't mind having 2 of these eventually. Well what do you guys think?

Crap.. i dont wanna go around spending $250 when its not anything short of a killer deal i guess... And if i have to sell it for $ i would like to be able to at least break even.

Were real close buddies and hes always hooking me up with stuff so i help him with car audio shit for pretty much free. He just buys materials and maybe hell toss a 20$ my way.

Im not sure weather i should get it or not being that i have no sub and i need to get a job so i can start putting $ towards a new car.

Hehe i had a bxi2006d from hifonics in my oldsetup and i thought it did well..

it was rated at 2000 watts at 1 ohm the PA is rated at 2300+ i think so taking in the overrated factor.. is the Planet Audio amp stronger? just looks like a cheaper build to me.

I seen them run .5 daily and .25 burp......i regret selling my 2200 and vx1400... they are really solid amps
