is a grill necissary?

I was just curious if i should cover the front of my sub? i mean i will put an occasional soccer ball or something that will slide around and maybe get right up on the front of my woofer. should i buy a grill? i dont want something like blinged out just a cover for it to be protected from and object. where could i look to buy something?

Also seeing your sub isnt cheap I would recommend getting one or making one.

i agree always necessary.

if you dont have a grill over your sub, the sub pushes more air, in turn causing it too lose some cone control. adding a grill helps keep the pressure on the cone to keep it from blowing to bits.
