10x. Demonoid blows since it got taken offline a while ago. The speeds are 20 times faster. All the uploaders have seed boxes. The only issue is you have to seed back to the community or you will be banned.

Are the torrents any safer? I've been downloading using only Demonoid's tracker and I still got a damn copyright infringement email...

Not really, but they havent been shut down multiple times by the **AA organizations. Demonoid is a target, IPT is not. Naturally they are safer by obscurity.
