Okay. Im 16 years old, I got a 4 cylinder 93' Mitsubishi Eclipse and my insurance is $125 a month //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif Waaaay too much than i want to pay. Any suggestion on a cheap insurance provider? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

You're only 16, so you just got your license, and you drive a sports car (4 cyl or not, Eclipse = sports car). Shit ain't going to be cheap for you unless you age drastically overnight or get a grandma car.

i have a 3.0, but no drivers ed. And i didnt even get the insurance, my parents got it for me and they say they didnt mention a discount. Im not lookin to keep this company, im tryin to find cheaper...

Edit: Name of current company is "shelter"

thats life mang, for your age theres no way to get it cheeper

thats not low. My friend has 30 dollar a month, and shes 17....but she drives a granny mobile. Besides...i make 300 a month, 125 is almost half of what i make. Insurance and gas leaves me with VERY little to buy that new sound system i wanted.

x2 means times two, as in azbass agreed with squeak's post.

At age 16 there's really no such thing as cheap insurance. There are several things you can do to lessen the blow but nothing will truly eliminate it.

Possibilities:

Get on your parent's insurance policy - discounts for multiple drivers

Keep your GPA up as suggested earlier - most insurance companies will give good students a discount

If you don't absolutely have to have that Eclipse look into different cars that rate lower on insurance companies' actuarial tables

Satisfactorily completing Driver's Education will earn a discount with almost every insurance carrier in the nation

If you're carrying full coverage on your car an alarm may earn you a discount depending on your carrier

Heaps of things can lessen the hit - but all in all $125/month for a 16yr old in an Eclipse really doesn't seem out of line.
