Installing portable dvd player as flipdown in suv

Hey guys. I just purchased a yukon that had a 9 inch portable dvd player mounted in the ceiling. It actually looked like a decent installation, but the player was dead. Do you all see this often? Is it acceptable? Any particular models that cater to the idea better than others?

if its a protable like handheld that is retarded unless they disasembled it and flipped the screen around since from the factory if it was mounted to the headliner the image would be upside down...just purchase and overhead monitor for the car not a portable

alpine rse2 i think thats the model number. directed screens are junk, alpine is the best i have installed.
