Installing just a CD player.

I know nothing of car audio(obviously from this post) and am buying a new car.

I'm buying a 2006 Ford Taurus, anyone know if it's possible to put in an In dash Cd player without paying a bunch of money.

Bestbuy.com says nothing will fit in my car. I was looking for something I can plug my Ipod into.

Nice to see another Mass-hole around. For the best iPod stuff check out the alpine decks. From a quick look at crutchfield.com they say you have a DD,E size and pretty much anything will fit but I'm sure it will require a dash kit which crutchfield will actually send you with the receiver if you buy it from them, also you get a harness adaptor so you don't have to hack up your factory wiring, just connect the recievers harness to the adaptor harness and then plug into your factory wiring.

Maybe check out this Alpine http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?g=300&i=500CDE9881&tp=5684 its a little more money than the standard deck but gives you 3 sets of pre-outs which will let you expand your system later on it your looking for it. The iPod cable will be an accessory but not too bad.

What kind of budget are you looking to spend, maybe we can come up with some better suggestions. But for iPod duty I would suggest an Alpine unit first and foremost

Well thanks for the reply.

I'll definitely check that stuff out if I find someone to put it in for me. I'll check the Alpine's because you suggested them. I don't touch electronics on anything(especially something I'm going to pay 9 g's for).

I was going to have Best Buy do it and I think you answered my question that it's not too difficult and won't cost $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
