Installing a 1/2 din EQ, have a few questions

So planning on adding the cadence 7-band 1/2 din to my truck soon and stumped on a few things.

The stereo dash kit in my truck now looks like this(not this exact one though) Scosche GM1583B Single DIN Install Dash Kit for Select 1992-up

I want my eq below my HU, so if the bottom slot dosnt pop out should i just cut it out?

Or do i need to order one like this Metra 99-6510 (met-996510) Single DIN / Double DIN Installation then add a trim piece since its only a 1/2 din? Not sure if mine pops out like the one above, have to check that out tomorrow.

Also how do i mount thoughs suckers in there???? Heres the eq im planning on Cadence CEQ-773 (CEQ773) 7 Band Paragraphic Equalizer Crossover

Then i just need some 1foot jumpers for eq to hu right? Also want to add volt meter, but dont know where to put it yet :/

I think im going with a better HU now actaully, im not sure what bit rate my cda105 has but its not that expensive of a unit so i know its not very good. Been looking at units with 24bit converters, also love the fact the use that even when an ipod is attached. I think it will be more of an SQ boost.

the eq is easy to install all of them are pretty much the same as far as installing them.i'd look at the autotek 7007 eq tho, its better than both the cadence and clarion and has a 9 volt line driver built in.if it will fit in the pocket a bit ,just cut the back out and slide it in. also i use 2 y adapters on mine ,and connect the front and sub channels together then a small 1 ft rca to the eq.for me it just gives me more options from my deck for adjusting for my sound.if you like this way then just a small rca from the rear to the eq.the volt meter can be wired at the deck power and ground wires
