installation help (noob question)

i have no idea how to hook up anything...

i have 2 10" kicker subs:

i know how to hook up a surround sound system in a house...is it similar at all?

does anyone know a site that has step by step directions?

crutchfield.com..........for hooking the stuff up.

I believe Rockford fosgate's website has instructions on wiring the subs. Your sub link said page not found, so i don't know if the subs are dual 4 or 2. if they are dual 4, wire them to 2 ohm per the instructions on the RF website, and run them into the amp.

It's not too hard at all. Do you have a wiring kit and all of that?

well, there's alot of them. http://www.the12volt.com, http://www.jlaudio.com, http://www.bcae1.com for a few examples... the subs should hook together in a parallel connection to the amp for a 2 ohm load.... that's as simple as daisy chaining the positive of the amp to the positive of both subs and the same for the negative terminals... As far as the connections in general they're all similar in an electrical sense to a surround sound system. Make sure you have a decent installation kit for the amp with at LEAST 10AWG wire for that amp 8AWG prefferably. Make the ground connection as short as possible on BARE metal and not under a seat bolt or under another factory grounding location. Just some basics to follow. Good Luck and have fun!

yeah i have an 8 gauge wiring kit and everything i need to install it i just am worried that its going to be really confusing and complex...

i guess ill just wing it, im not STUPID i just have never done any of this before.
