My parents seriously don't want me taking off the ENTIRE dash, but if that's the only option..

I don't know if the 99 eclipse is the new or old body style but it doesn't matter. as long as its not the stock infinity system then they're both very easy to do, and you certinally don't have to remove the dash!

try installdr.com, it may have a step by step guide with pictures, go see.

It's the second gen, and it doesn't have the infinity system.

And I'm glad I don't have to remove the dash. Installdr.com didn't have a guide though ;-x

well i had a 2000 if i could see a pic of your dash i could probably tell you. but in my 2000 the trim that covers where the HU goes just snaps on and of after you remove 2 screws. it was fairly simple. take a pic though so we can see maybe look under the dash and see if there are screws. or you could checkout a 2g eclipse forum.

yeah, I don't think second gens had that as an option period. the new ones do though.

uhm.

If i remember right ( i havn't done one in a while) you pull off the arm rest, then pull off the shifter trim, then pull off the radio bezel (screws on top an bottom) and its ISO mounted. pretty simple

It looks like the AC controller levers are a part of the piece I need to take off, and I do NOT want to break them.

And I tried pulling off the arm rest... there must be a trick to it.

should be the best picture as far as explaining the AC controller levers.

On crutchfield they had DIM tools to remove stock HU's, would that work?

might be like my audi where you need a special tool to slide in there and pull it out. the whole unit should slide out then

This is a desperate plea. I really don't want to fork out 200 dollars for installation of all of my crap.

I'm sorry man, I don't remember for sure, I havn't done one of these in so long. I THINK that the panel just pops off...

the panel pops off and there are a couple screws....just pull a little bit it will pop right off.....and if you need an extra stock front bumper in good condition i have one if you want it....for free!!

What happens with that AC lever, then? does it move out with the panel?

its pie to install .i have a 96 eclipse.the lilttle thing under teh air condiotin knob jus pops off then a couple screws and wala its off. and there might be some screws on the side. if so just pull off the side pieaces of plastic. Justin89T my 86 came with the infinity system

dude it's a **** mitsu..i had a 98 eclipse...EVERYTHING POPS OFF...just seriously pry everything.. it'll come off. i really think the engine could pop off too
