Man I just had a nasty one a few weeks ago. Started from breaking my toe nail when I was workin out in the garage. Neglected it and got a cut by my nail on my toe, then the bastard started growing into the cut and finally once it started hurting enough I investigated. Took me a few different tries, but after a few weeks of terrible pain I just had to man up and rip that bisch out. My friend there is nothing retarded about going to the doctor for an ingrown toenail. I have insurance for when there is something wrong with my physical being. I am not a doctor by any means and I am not going to take a chance of messing up my toe even worse when I can go to someone who does this for a living and have far less risk of messing something up. When it comes to problems with my health I don't the the DIY approach. If you like to perform procedures on yourself then fine go ahead. But I'm no idiot, if something is wrong with my body and I know that theres a chance of me messing it up even worse I'm going to the doctor because that's there job.

You save money and cut costs by not going out shopping, getting groceries instead of eating fast food every day. Your health should not be something you try to save money on. If you have a problem with your health insurance take it up with the government don't blame it on people who are using their insurance because there's something wrong with their health.

You sir are a retard. You expect people to do what they did before the days of modern medicine and do procedures on themselves. I'm sure you could do your own stitches too if you wanted to take the chance but there's a chance of getting infected or making it worse so why would you take that chance? You act like you just get in there and just pull shit outta your toe and it's not risky at all. And you have the nerve to tell me that by going to the doctor I am messing up the health care system? My friend the government is who messed up the health care system. People going to the doctor for procedures like they are supposed to is not the problem.
I would much rather go to the doctor when I have an ingrown toenail and have them do it instead of trying to do it myself, getting it infected or make things worse and then need extra work from the doctor and need antibiotics and stuff. Don't go to the doctor if you don't want to but don't tell me that I'm wrong for going to the doctor and using the health insurance that I pay for like I am supposed to. And FYI this is the only thing I have used my insurance for in years. If you want to pay for my insurance then you can feel more than welcome to tell me what I can and cannot go to the doctor for but I pay for my own shit so I will go to the doctor when I feel it's appropriate.

Ive had quite a few cut out. The first few times I had the Doctor inject my toe so it didnt hurt, but the stuff they injected hurt just as bad, so after a a couple times I told him just to cut it.
Hurt so bad I ended up passing out. Ive never seen ingrown toenails like the ones I get. Ive only gotten them on my big toes and they are 1/4 the size of the nail.
Now one of them is deadened so it doesnt grow back. On my left foot, It really stings like I have one when I bump the right side of big toe. I usually peel the nails up and trim them though to keep it from happening.
