Infrasonic Filter?

I have the new JL HD750/1 sub amp. It has an infrasonic filter that is at 30hz set. You cannot vary it. It is set at 30hz. My ported box is going to be tuned at 31 or 32hz. My question is with the infrasonic filter on at 30hz is that gonna be ok and match to what my box tuning is. Am I gonna lose a lot of the low deep bass from 20-30hz with it on?? not really knowledgable about the infrasonic filter so please help. thanks!!

if you go ported it should be set at 15 or 25 on most amps. In your case, 30 hertz seems abit high for a subsonic filter. I would say you will definitely lose some bass on the real low's because it will protect against the amp from getting too low. Thats its job.

Ibelieve most people here probably set theres at 15 or so, but i might be wrong

you should put it on, it will save your sub one day

i would keep it on. it a good idea to put a filter a little below the tuning frequency, so this seems pretty close. If you are looking for significant output at ultra low frequencies, then you should seal the box or tune the box lower.

What are you talking about, people say everyday that the subsonic needs to be close to what u set ur ported box to. I don't see many people with boxes tuned @ 15-20 hz
