Infinity Reference 12

What are some subs comparable or better than the infinity reference 12's (1220w) within that price and power range? Looking for real nice tight sq but also deep response with decent spl.

I have listened to all three of those subs mentioned(Type S, 12W0, reference) side by side, and out of all of them the reference seemed to sound the worst. It was bottoming out terribly on the same amp as the other two, while the W0 and the type S were loving it. Thanks for the input. I actually talked to David Reid (dreid) and he had two infinity reference 10's in the recommended sealed box and had 400wrms going to each with no prob. Were the subs you heard in a sealed box or other kind?

i listened to 2 type s's at circuity city and they sucked balls, they didnt sound great at all

U think thats something?? Old skool Kicker Comp 8".....150 wattas MAX in SEALED BOX BEING HIT WITH A jl 500/1 AMP!!!!! Thing took it with all the bass testes and eq settigns we threw at it and still played just fine.

I am considering gettting one of them and my pair of kicker comps. Use the comps for my mid bass, in an 8" and then use a 10" and NAIL it with a HUGE amp.
