Infinity Kappa 652.9i

Hey, I'm looking to buy some new speakers for my 1995 Nissan Maxima, and need some input/advice. I'm getting them for the front doors, and they hold 6-3/4" speakers. So tomorrow I plan on going out to shop around, and test speakers. Heres my deal: I am looking for speakers that can produce a decent amount of bass, along with good crisp highs. So a two or three way would be nice. I do not have a sub in my car, and don't plan on getting one anytime soon, so I want a set of speakers that can produce all ranges cleanly at about 3/4 volume. Any ideas or recommendations? Price would be good if under $200 or so. So far, I've got my eyes on these: Infinity Kappa 652.9i

652.9i are discontinued. They've been replaced by the 62.9i.

3/4 volume is completely relative. Volume has nothing to do with clean power.

3-way coaxials are a gimmick. Anything more than a 2-way coaxial is just a ploy to sell more speakers at the flea market shops.

Focal 165CA1, JL Audio C2-650x, Polk db651, Pioneer Premier TS-D602P.

The C2s or TS-D602Ps are the best all around of the bunch, the Focal is $30-50 more than the others, but have a much fuller sound. Sound quality is largely a matter of opinion, as far as coaxials on deck power go.

I actually own a pair of polk db651 in my integra, and wasn't very thrilled with their bass output. maybe i shouldnt expect much from speakers powered by a head unit?

Deck power always sucks. And decks are labeled with a max rating, so it's 40x4 max. Chances are, being that it's a Sony (they overrate the SHIT out of everything), it's probably like 10w RMS. Not gonna get anything too impressive, but you can at least get what sounds best to you. A small 4 channel amp wouldn't be a bad idea.

The reason Infinity does that is because of the resistance seen across factory speakers wires, supposedly. They're supposed to meter out close to 4 ohm at the radio, whereas a factory speaker specs out around 5.5-6 ohms at the radio.

THIS IS ALL ACCORDING TO INFINITY. I don't agree with most of it, but we have to see a radio that wouldn't work with them, and we install a LOT of infinity speakers.
