impedence load

i have a mtx 421d. this amp is stable at 2 ohm putting out about 420 watts. i have a kicker compvr that is dvc 2ohm and right now it is wired in a series for a 4 ohm impedence. this is only giving my sub like 200 watts. i am tired of underpowering it but would it be safe to wire the sub to a 1 ohm load. any one have any experience with mtx audio and this amp?
