image dynamics idx24 outputting crappy and "low" signal why?

I've been trouble shooting my install this morning- after re-installation i had no output from anything so i started taking things apart piece by piece and i've basically narrowed it down to the idx24. if i re-route the rca level signals coming out of the idq31s (the piece directly upstream) straight to an amp i get normal output.

there is a very slight, quiet, garbled output through it when it's hooked up (really only noticeable through the tweeters with the volume cranked).

the power light is on and nothing is muted on the unit either (has speaker mute buttons)

it seems like possibly it isn't really turning on?

i have run new wires- the same wires power the idx24 as the idq31

i will run new wires of a larger gauge and re-check the connections etc. once again

strangely when i was testing it earlier i noticed that the idx24 would sometimes only turn on for a second and then shut off. It would always fully turn on once i connected the power wires from the idq31s and the idx24 together- but when they didn't share the connections it wouldn't turn on.

still say it is a wiring or fuse problem....

go to the id forum at http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com and ask eric stevens or some one from there. if it comes to it, you might be able to get them on the phone.

i did post there as well- and will call monday if i don't get it sorted by then.

All i can really try right now is to run a larger gauge wire and make sure it's very well connected etc.

i do have a couple of spare power supplies for these, but don't see that being the problem
