Finally finished with the F150 project and you think I would generally be happy but unfortunately that is not the case, I am actually pondering the idea of a doing a blow through from the cab to the bed of the truck and turning my substage from its current two 12" shallow mount subwoofers to 3x 15" regular subwoofers.
The setup I am thinking is:
Blowthrough components
- Phoenix Gold Rsd 6.5" Comp Set - 69.99(22.50)
- 3x Kicker CompVX 2-Ohm 2000w 15" subwoofer - 169.99x3(32.99 shipping)
- Hifonics BXI2607D 2600-Watt D-Class Amplifier - 385.00(28.00)
- Kicker PKD1 1/0 Gauge Dual Amp Kit - 64.75(26.99)
- Hifonics ZXi4406 4-Channel Amplifier - 139.00(19.00)
- 2x Krystal Kable 2-Channel RCA's - 19.99x2
- 35ft of Karma SS 8 Gauge Speaker Wire - 35.00
But if I do do this huge change in my system, I would probably lose all of the previous wiring, the two sealed Kicker CompVT's and the enclosure, the amplifiers.
I would cut a large section from the cab to the bed and build an enclosure using the majority of the bed a box with the subwoofers facing into the cab as well as port holes. I would probably mount the ampliifiers in a designated area in the bed beside the subwoofer enclosure aswell as the distribution blocks and also install another component set into the front of the vehicle.
The total upgrade will probably cost $1500
Any tips? Would I need a dry cell battery, new alternator, etc to run this setup?
