i'm seriously considering pledging...

I went to a HBCU by the name of Allen University in Columbia Sc.While I was in school I was extended the privledge to join a frat my second semester of my freshman year which is very rare or unheard of unless you have the right connections. I was freshman class president,SGA executive board member and vice chairmen of NCAACP executive board. I had intentions to join a frat at my school but I got into an automobile accident. I broke my neck and I still recovering from that. I thought about being a Q or an Alpha.because I like what they stood for and the activities they did out side of stepping and parties. These fratenities gave back to the community and etc. People want to grt into these organiazations for all kinds of reasons, wheter it's getting pvssy or popular status or making life time commitments and brotherly ties that could halp you gat that very competitive job or bank loan and etc. So ask yourself why should you jon? and how will I benifit from this? Is it worth it? Out side the parties and stepping what does this organization offer me? GL bro in your future endeavor

Seriously though Adio, you are pretty independent in your thinking. I wonder how that is going to mesh with a frat, especially while pledging. Of course you can always **** it up until you are a member. Then you can be a PITA all you want.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
But I do completely understand about the connections for life. I would imagine that those are even more "honored" with a black fraternity, especially at Howard.

I don't know how strong the greek system is there. At some schools it is more important to be a member of a frat than at others. In other words, at some schools one may be significantly limiting his experience if he is not a member.
thanks WSW:) i think i'll be okk in the middle and the end cause i'll be older than 99% of the young and delicious black children there. in the beginning, IDK. but i'll look more into it once i get down there ( if i'm even accepted)
