I'm screwed...

Well, as some know, my house just recently flooded. Well, the manager of the apartment kept his word, and gave me my deposit back, called the carpet crew out, took off 1/2 months rent. I'm was greatly pleased with him, as he got everything done by 8 o'clock in the morning, yesterday. Carpet crew came out, and pulled the carpet, and dried everything. That was quick, looks like I will be getting new carpet... My thoughts were wrong. The company said the manager didn't request new carpet to be installed, and they will not install new carpet until we pay them again. I asked to look at the payment records, and it plainly shows that he paid for more than the carpet pulling/drying, but the extra $300 that was paid did not have a 'reason' to be there. So the company said that was just a tip... What the fuck? That's just the beginning of my problems. Insurance person comes Monday, and says there is nothing that they can do, since I live in a flood plain. Which, I know for a fact I don't live a in a flood plain, as the street JUST before my house (100+ ft away) is the end of the flood plain. So now I have to wait for a few weeks until they can verify my comments, and the manager's. I have no carpet, and no money to replace items that were messed up, as I had to go out and buy some carpet for the house so I can bring my daughter back home. It's suppose to start heavy rain fall tonight, and last until Saturday. We've built a few barriers out of bricks and sand bags, but I'm not sure if that'll help or not. So I am not going to install the new carpet I just paid for out of my own pocket, until after the rain stops.. Like I said, I'm screwed...

Man that sucks dude! Hope it don't rain to much more for ya and you get that situation taken care of rather sooner than later.
Do you have renters insurance?
Yes, I was actually smart enough to get that, but the insurance company is be very hesitant, but you can expect that from an insurance company.

I'll tell 'em we'll come disturb they're work place. Luckily, I'm friends with the Mayor of the town, so I'm having him call the insurance company and tell them were the flood plain ends. Then that'll take about a week or two if they get their shit together.
