I'm out of the shithole...

so you're leaving the shithole you're in now and think el paso is a step up? elpaso is a dive. i drove through/stopped for lunch it on my way to Austin and wanted to kill myself

Just got back. Must say, El Paso is nice. Some parts are a little shotty but for the most part, it's all clean as hell and houses are pretty nice.

Housing is cheap as hell, too. You can rent a 3BR/2BA 1000+ sq. ft. apartment for $700. Here you can't get a decent 1BR/1BA for that.

Went to New Mexico...I've never seen such desolate land before...

Yeah El Paso IS the nicest border town you will see BY FAR in TX. I work for FMCSA (gov't). We inspect the trucks coming in from Mexico (remember NAFTA? It's still alive and well).

I live in Austin, TX, but have been to Brownsville, Mcallen, Roma, Los Indios, Progresso, Eagle Pass, Del Rio, Laredo ( World Trade Bridge, over 7000 vehicles a day pass thru there, accouting for 60% of the transport traffic coming into America from Mexico), El Paso (Ysleta and Bota bridges). And many places south of the border, of course //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif .

El Paso is far and away the best border town in TX....

damm thats crazy.. before the hurricane i lived in a 5br/2ba 2500 sq ft home for $900 a month... i never realised that pricing down here was so much cheaper than the rest of the country...not any more though
