Im new here, just a few questions.

Ok, well I am installing a new system in my 2006 Mustang. It is going to be 10 speaker in the front, and negligible for the rear. The components going in are:

100W RMS 200W MAX 8" Kicker subs for the door panels.

90W RMS 270W MAX INFINITY 6820CS (6x8,crossover, tweeter) for factory 6x8 location(in door) and the tweeter goes in door by shoulder.

50W RMS 100W MAX Powerbass tweeters (to go by the hip in the center console)

35W RMS 220W MAX pioneer A-series 6.5" to go in the center console by the knees.

Ok, so, the thought was to get a tri-way crossover for the tweet, 6.5", and sub. And use a 4 channel amplifier for the the two-way crossover and the tri-way crossover. That's 1700W Max, 600W RMS. Am I going about this the right way?

Confused to ****!

This is very confusing.

Let me see what i got from that...

Doors -

8" subs

6x8 mids

Tweeters

Center console -

6.5" mids

tweeters

If you want to do it this way, you need 2 4-channel amplifiers, and one 2 channel for the subs (if u use them as mid-woofers).

Well, ok. I don't know how to make it any less confusing.

The infinty set(6x8 + tweeter) comes with a crossover. So that is one channel per side of the car(so two channels)

Then the door sub, 6.5, and tweeter I want to put on a tri-way crossover, and put that crossover on another channel, so that is another channel per side. So four channels in total. I am investing alot into this system, and I am looking into getting the pioneer avh-p6000dvd. Am I doing this the right way?

Too many speakers, it will sound like sh!t.

Google "speaker cancellation" and "phase" to learn why.

If all you want is loud you can still do it with less speakers and get better sound at less cost.

Cool, it would be alot easier for me to drop the 6.5 and tweet. THANK GOD

Now, with just the infinity component and the door sub, can I just get a 4 channel(one channel for each crossover, and one channel for each door sub)?

That's now 1300W MAX 500W RMS

I'm investing alot into this stereo, is it going to be good with just the 6 speakers I'm putting up front? Should I put the tweeter somewhere other than at shoulder level on the door panel?

I don't want heavy bass. I'm not trying to be gangster.

anyways, you trying to do too much. more speakers may NOT always be better. You would be better off getting a really good set of components for the front and back and amp them. no need for 8"s up front or center channel speakers.

And if you want bass, put a sub in the back. nothing "gangster" about a sub, they them in a lot of cars brand new nowadays noob //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

The trunk is tubbed with water/meth, nos, and fuel cell. No room for a sub especially since it's a convertible.

Guys, I don't want heavy bass. Hence the reason why I bought 8" subwoofers to replace the factory 8" paper woofers.

You're going to have to really seal up that door if you want to put subs in it. Also, how did you come up with the speaker selection? Spend some money on a GOOD set of components (DynAudio, Morel, Hertz, Rainbow, etc...), and don't get their entry level offerings. Get a mid to high end set of components, and I think you'll be happier. Is there any way you can drop an infinite baffle sub/subs into the rear deck? I'd think that would be easier than trying to mount them in the doors.
