You can measure it by rough dimensions but I really doubt your trunk is completely sealed and that it is completely rigid. That is how it works on paper and it works the same way in real life but with many more variables that are nearly impossible to plan ahead for (like flexing of panels, parameter shifting due to heat, pushing excursion beyond xmax, part variances, temperature, air leaks ect...). If you don't account for everything, then yes, the numbers will be very different but the same rules apply to this. And like I said, it really doesn't matter if it's close enough as the slight difference is not going to be audible. You shouldn't ignore the math because it's too simplified because it can really give you an idea of what is going to happen and what to shoot for. Sure things aren't going to be idea but that's OK. That doesn't mean you should act like the math is irrelevant. I was just giving a mathematical break down of what is actually happening in a true IB environment (and I'm not in any way saying what you guys have isn't good enough for IB and I think your work looks awesome and I'm sure it sounds that way as well). I would actually love to try an infinite baffle sometime for a home setup utilizing AE's IB15s but I kind of need a house first haha.
