I'm completely clueless!

I have a 2005 Dodge Neon that I would like to put a system in. I'm going through Best Buy since my credit card is through them.

I'm so clueless when it comes to this. I'm under the impression I need a deck, speakers, a subwoofer and an amplifier. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm looking for something nice but modest. I'll spend money but I'm not looking to go crazy. I just want something that sounds nice and is worth the money I'm spending.

just buy the stuff off the internet and classifields on this site just look at videos of how to set the stuff up yourself

You start by buying from somewhere other than Best Buy. Their prices are insane. If you'd buy equipment online, you'd get better stuff while saving yourself money.

My first system was under 500. I bought everything off the classifieds here.

Kicker CVX 12"

Memphis ST500D

A profile 2 channel and kicker 2 amp wiring off ebay.

The box also off the classifieds.

It all came to be about to 410.

Add the speakers and you'll still be under 500.

best buy = fail, occasionally open items are at a reasonable price but still to much and a pain to find. if you post a budget several people including myself will find you some noteworthy equipment and give you a few options to pick and choose from.

Just remember an audio install is 5% equipment 90% install and 5% beer
