Anyone else?

I hit 148.5 dB on music, termlab mic on the dash, with 2 - 12" MTX 8500's and a MTX 7801 amp. I tuned the box to 43 Hz. It was a small box considering I had to fit in in the trunk of a 2 door integra. The 7801 was running at 1 ohm, so 1700 watts. (They were underrated from the manufacturer's specs at 1200 watts at 1 ohm). I bought the amp for $230, and the subs for $500. Thought it was a pretty good deal, especially when I sold everything for $1000 a year later. Those were the good days; still have the 1st place dB drag trophy at home.

Those#s really don't seem a little out there for that setup? and that amp being 500 watts underrated seems crazy to me.

This was a quote from a guy on another board who tends to stretch things a bit. Maybe it is legit, but both the amp rating and his score seem way higher than possible from a n00b builder at that based on a spec box

well he's tuned pretty high... maybe just dumb luck
Yea, possibly. When I had my TL and did a few sweeps in my grand am, i found I peaked at 46 hz and again in the low 60s I believe ( been a while ) So was there a "reference " formula to figure out what I could tune my next box to in order to get a little more , without spending a shitload in $ trying to figure it out on my own?
