ok so I was doing some math here. my friend works at a local pizza place in my town on friday and sat night only. He make 6.50 an hour. But the kicker is he makes 150 per night in tips. And he work from 7-12. so for 2 nights(10 hours) he makes 365.00. sadly works out to 36.50 an hour. but they are the only 2 days he works there because the rest of the week he wouldnt make anything

I am not doubting anything on tips, but he said 12 dollars an hour plus tips and gas. There is no way.

My favorite one is still the guy who puts up fences and makes $110K a year.

hell why not...i make almost $27 an hour making downy fabric softner....my wife averages about 18-19 an hour selling crap jewelery.

I guess they just don't tip well in Michigan. Average tip per delivery is $2. So in 5 hours $150 in tips, considering absolute values and that no one stiffs you on the tip, that is 75 deliveries in 5 hours, 15 per hour, and one every four minutes. Perhaps there are a lot of stoners where you live. Who knew the pizza industry was so lucrative.

from what he says his lowest tip is normally like 4 bucks. So I guess he isn't doin so bad. I woulnd't want to rely on tips for my salary tho.

No it doesn't. In Michigan it pays less then minimum wage.

Woah. I don't know where it pays less. But I've been working at Hungry Howies for about a year and will be a driver shortly, simply because if the driver's were to work as many hours as the managers on salary, they'd make more than them a year.

They get minimum wage 7.15, + 1.50 for every run they take + tips - gas.

Last night my friend worked 3 hours, took 8 runs, and made 54 bucks in tips.

That's about $90 in 3 hours, minus 25 for gas(for a 4x4 suv), = 21 an hour.

That was an average night, there's been nights when they make over 100 in tips on 10-15 runs working 5 hours.

Driver > manager > insider at a pizza place.

This is just hungry howies though, I am not aware of what goes on at other pizzerias
