IF 9x3=27,and 27+2=29...wheres the other dollar?

why would you do 9x3 at all? that is no where in the word problem? none of them pay or are paid $3 so... if you look at it like 9x3 you have retardation and need help..

they paid 30

30/3=10

the hotel gives $5 back bellboy keeps 2 gives back 3 so...

30-5= 25/3(room fee) + 3(amount given back) + 2(bell hops)

or the easy way 25+2= 27 amount paid + 3 given back.. so they each pay $9 and have 1 left over 3x9 + (3x1)=30

Bravo

That makes sense..but if u look at it as 9x3=27

27+2=29...
Yes that equals 29... how YOU look at it and how it is are two different things tho. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Its implied...If they originally paid $10,and then the bell boy gives each one of em a dollar, that means they now paid 9 each, making that 9x3=27

Thats the purpose of the riddle...finding why it comes out right when u do it one way but when u try another it doesnt add up

Think again....Each fisherman originally paid $10 each,then they all got a dollar back,that means$9x$3=$27

The bell boy kept $2, that means

$27+2= 29

sooo wheres the other dollar???
The flaw is here. Forget the $30, they didn't pay $30 essentially.

That calculation should be 3*9=27$ (total contribution from men) then

$27 - 2 (bellhop) = $25 (room cost)

I won't tell bro.
