Idq8/id Horns Vs Dls Iridiums

i went to go listen to some dsl's today and they sounded sweet. the problem is i have a pair of idq8's collecting dust and i've always wanted to hear them in my truck. everybody told me this system would totally rule for metal. i guess it's that big 8" woofer that lures me! plus with those idq8's i want have to run with a mid range.then again those dsl iridium 6.3's i could drop them in the factory locations. money isnt an issue,i want to know which system would crank the best! thanx

horns no contest even the cd-1e would get louder and if you set up the horns correctly they will image like no other. the better the horn the better the sq.

i was thinking about going with cd-2 id comp- are horns tingy like metal domes?

can be about anything you want. cd-2 driver is a 7 lb driver by itself it can be mellow or rip your head off. you get horns you need 2 things not "get later" but 2 things you NEED 1. 24 db per octive crossover 2. at least 12 bands of equalization. best inexpensive peice for this is an audiocontrol eqx, but mind you can get better like the crossfire 24 db x over and 31 band eq's. if you are serious into it 31 bands of eq is great

i got a audio control eqx dual ban- can you just run the iq8 off the amps crossover? or do i need a seperate crossover?

i would in corperate the eqx into the whole system (y off the low pass) and incorperate the high pass filter on the amp for the 8's and use the low pass filter on the sub amp. the chip in the eqx should be about 800-900 hz
