well they both sound similar down around 30hz (close to the lower limit of your hearing) but the IDW's rattled your eyeballs and pressurized your inner ear. This was definitely high on the "cool" factor but it didn't detract or help the SQ. I'm not really looking for high output so the IDQ works just fine for me. So in response to #2 yes, I am satisfied. Besides, my mids (along with most other mids) are crossed over at 63hz or higher so in the 30-50hz range it's all sub. I'm very happy with how well the IDQ and the Dayton's meet at 63 hz. The slope of the dayton's is very steep (24db) while I have the IDQ falling off a little more lazily. I didn't have time to really tune the whole system but this sounded good with the quick tuning I did. As for #1 yes it is ideal if you are looking for output. The IDW's really shined at 50hz and lower. They extended deeper than any sub I've had yet. This is probably due to their stellar design and the fact that they where critically damped (basically installed in IB) BTW: IDW's are considered some of the best car audio subs ever made (for SQ). They are quite rare and go for $400 a pair even though they are 10 years old. So a comparing them to IDW's is saying alot about the IDQ's sq.
