So thinking about this setup, thought I would get some opinions

HU: Factory to JBL MS-8 Processor

Front: MB Quart PVL 216 components (bi-amp active crossover 3500 Hz 24db slope)

Rear: JBL Power Series 6.5 (running from MS-8 amp 30watts)

Sub: Image Dynamics IDQ 10"

Amps: JBL MS-A1004 (bi-amp front) JBL MS-A5001 (sub)

I am also thinking about ditching the rears, cant hear them very well dont see the point, they also distort at high volume because I run out of power back there before the front stage does

HU: Factory to JBL MS-8 Processor I would get this instead of that... http://www.audiocontrol.com/t34/17612/712451/OEM-Integration/LCQ--1----Six-Channel-Line-Output-Converter-with-Equalization-and-AccuBASS.html

THere is nothing wrong with ditching the rears, but try to keep them by getting high power midbass or full rang comps. If you build pods around them, you can cut out some of that distortion that cancels them.

I like your plans. I don't want rear midbass - it takes the bass out of my sound stage. my bass sounds like it's coming from my dash now. it's nice. i have rear speakers, but they are not connected. i had them running off my H701 as rear fill (bandpass crossover, lots of time delay, and eq filtered). as rear fill, they worked, but i'm just fine without them. plenty of volume and plenty of midbass in my soundstage. front speaker installation will determine how you'll sound.

ditch the rears and spend more on the fronts. IMO - the only MB Quart speakers worth using are the Q series. and for old school MB Quart sound, look to German Maestro.
