if you plan on the IDMAX, remember to hide it from view. I don't know about you, but I hate the site of dimples on a sub surround.

Dimpling doesn't hamper performance. Looks bad, that's all.

if u have the dual 2ohm version, then sure u can wire it down to 1ohm.

I would probably stil lean towards the IDMAX in that case, hits real hard and can tkae a lot of power and great SQ over all

what are u talking about? i just got a idmax v.3 dual 2 ohm and there are no dimples on the surround. only thing is that on sounddomain's pic it looks like part of it is gray colored with a black surround. but its actually all black. by the way where is the serial number supposed to be? I bought mine from carmedia1.com (before i foulnd out sounddomain sold it with full factory warrenty for 40 bucks more)
