IDMAX or MAG for SQ

I wouldnt consider either of those subs pure SQ drivers. Do you really mean just raw SQ? or SQL? If SQL the Mag would be an awesome driver especially off that amp, they get loud and sound VERY good.

The IDMAX is a great SQ driver and gets really loud...not as loud as a Mag but it does cost 1/2 what a Mag does and if you dont need the extra SPL id save your money.

I would call an IDmax a 100% SQ driver.

It was only build to be "loud" (ie good motor force and linear displacement) to stay flat all the way down to the LOW LOW's.

After hearing an IDmax I will say it was NOT designed for SQL, when the engineers sat down and designed it they had one thing in mind. Sound Quality and deep DEEP flat extension.

So you have to look at it this way. If you are really looking for SQL the Mag is likely your better choice. If you are just looking for SQ the IDmax is your sub and you will save a couple hundred dollars and put that into a good active Xover or 31 band EQ.

I love my idmax, and can back up everyone else, it gets really low, pretty loud, and remains clear the whole time. Matched up to a low ported box gives a good mix //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

the IDMax is used as my reference sub and nothing i've owned since can really compare. i've got an Arc Flatline on the way which should from what i've heard. I've never heard the Mag but for $450 its just a little out of my reach.

I'd go with the max. They do get loud, they werent' designed to, but they will still put some "bump in your trunk" so to speak. Plus they cost less and can sound just as good.

The only thing im looking for is SQ in a sub. I dont want the bass to bee too loud.

As far as i can hear the bass if im standing 20 feet away from the car im happy. i hope the IDMAX can atleast be that loud. I do plan on puting that sub in a sealed box for better SQ+ that arcaudio sub.

Will i need a some kind of a crossover from the H/U to the amps??

this is what im going to get.

1 pair CS 265.25 Germanium (fronts_

1 pair SLC 265 (rear)

ArcAudio 600.4 for the comps

12inch IDMAX + ArcAudio 900.1D

H/U===Kenwood P-NAV6019

wil i need a crossover?? or a Capacitor?

PS: is this any good?? MA Audio MA30EQX

I can say from experience, the IDMax in a 1.5 Sealed does get plenty loud, running it with a Arc Amp will give it so much better SQ than i got from my Hifonics, ur gonna enjoy it very much.

also what kind of car is it?

If you are not worried about the lower end of your listening spectrum being loud I would discount both of the earlier mentioned drivers from your list. You don't need a Mag or an IDMAX if you just want pure pure SQ with no realistic listening levels in your future. Save a lot of money and pick up a Shiva...or two. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

But if you want realisitc levels in your car I would keep the Mag and IDMAX in mind.
