IDMAX or Brahma 12....

So I've decided to go with either an IDMAX12D2 or an Adire Brahma 12 to be powered by my Crossfire BMF1000D (1000x1 at 1 ohms.) This is what I have in my car so far:

Head Unit - Pioneer DEHP8400MP

Dash Speakers - 3-way Kappa 32.5cf

Rear Speakers - 3-way Kappa 693.5i

Tweeters - Kappa 10.5t

I have a pair of 2-way Kappa 692.5is mounted under my front seats in 6x9 boxes.

The head unit is powering the dash speakers and tweeters

I have a Power Acoustick SP4X800 powering both my pairs of 6x9's (85x4 at 4 ohms)

Now the IDMAX is $460, while the Brahma is only $380, so price-wise i'm leaning towards the Brahma. But I've never heard any of these subs perform in person, so I have to place my faith in everyone here. Any recommendations?

Also, whats the difference in th Brahma 12 and the Brahma 15? Same specs, so something has got to warrant the 70 dollar price jump for a bigger size, what is it?

Thanks for all the help, its much appreciated.

You really coudln't go wrong with either driver. If you pay 460 (!) for the ID Max then you're paying way too much. The ID Max should be lower than the Brahma. Check eBay or something. As Goddyd4me said, the difference is in the superior low end of the 15". Although it only plays about 2-3hz lower (audible - all speakers will play at 20hz, you just can't hear them) the reinforced lower frequencies due to more surface area is where it really shines. The difference in SQ between the two is negligable.

Well thats from SounDomain, which is the only Auhorized Internet Dealer for Image Dynamics. The ones I see on eBay dont have any extended warranty information other than 90 days, so if I blow them in 6 months i'm screwed. Money really isn't a deciding factor as long as it isnt ridiculous, I'm willing to invest a lot of $$, I just want the best product.

I think I'm going to get the Brahma 15.

If you're spending this kind of money, you might want to look at a RE XXX. My wishlist in order of how much I want it would go: XXX, Brahma, SP, IDMAX, EVO-R, A series. The IDMAX looks cool, but Brahma's are generally considered better. I am not sure if everyone is talking about the v3's when they rate the brahma better, tho, so my list might need revision.

car audio magazine rated the IDmax equal to the 10w6v2 so I would probably go with the brahma or a XXX myself which are better than the 10w6v2 imho.

If he hasnt chosen a sub by now, then he cant be helped. Way to bring back a thread from 2002.
