So I was having idling problems with my car. I've got 1000W RMS running on a 80amp Mitsubishi alternator, with big 3 wiring, and an optimum red top.

My car couldn't handle the A/C on with the system, and then it got to the point where the lights and music on at once would result in too much charge and the engine would start to shut down.

I had figured it must've been the alternator but I just got it back from the shop and was told it was the ECM.

Can someone help me out to understand what failed, and what to do to fix it? I know in any case a HO alt would help, and is probably the best bet. But the thing is I never really push the system to the max. Rarely even above 60% I'd say.

Will you post a picture if the LC2i as it is wired. How did you set the output gains of the LC2i? What is the max voltage gain input on the amplifier?
