IDA-X001 replaced my CDA9813 - not happy

I bought the X001 yesterday. I knew the sound processing would not be as tweak able, but I didn't expect the distortion I'm getting....can't crank it up without distortion. I have a JL 300x4 so amp isn't an issue.

My question is, if I get a sound processor - PXE-H650, would that alleviate the distortion seeing as it would bypass the HU?

The other reason could be that MP3 CD's are cleaner than MP3's via the IPOD. Although it's supposed to be a pure ditigal connection so it should be exactly the same as reading the MP3 off of a CD.

I really like the interface of this HU, I just want comparable sound to my 9813 without distortion.

did you readjust your gains? i think the 9813 have 4v and your new unit has got 2v

I did re-adjust the gains and I set the crossovers on the amps since the 9813 used to control those.

I hated the X001. I sold it a month after I got it.

After a few hours of troubleshooting, looks like it's the amp. Now the low ohm light is stuck on. I put the 9813 back in and it too sounds distorted.
