Can these components handle 200w of clean power? I know I can just keep the amp down and really that's what I'm going to do, but I want to know if they can handle the power. My amp puts out 120x2 on the front channels and 200x2 on the rears and since I'm pretty sure I can't run these active on this amp I think I'm just going to run the matching Id coaxials for rear fill on the front channels. Unless of coarse we can come to the conclusion that the mids can take 200ish watts; I know the tweet can take the 120

Any experience with these and do you think it would be a good idea to run them active or just stick to passive and play it safe. They're only 190 new so I'm not really worried about them but Im trying to not have to buy twice, learn the hard way you know.

But I guess what your saying is as long as I feed them clean signal and keep the gain low they will hold up right?

Headroom is your friend and yeah as long as its clean power they should take it no problem.

as far as running the ctx comp set I cant say that I have personally ever ran them. I have only owned the xs line, however, my buddy has a set in his tahoe off 250 per side(on tap anyway) and they sound pretty clean good off that and its passive as well.

now as far as running active vs passive, where will your mids and tweeters be mounted? If your tweeters are very close to your mids passive will do just fine. Now if they are far away, I would say run active. Time alignment will be your friend there with them being mounted far apart

and for reference on id products taking power my upcoming build will consist of a set of xs mids each powered by their own ID q700.2 Yes thats 650 watts per mid(on tap) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif lol. I might run 2 pairs though? I have both sets, however, for simplicity Im considering just running the one set

I am running mine on 150rms no problems, so I would think you could get away with 200.

what a lot of people overlook is that the amp RMS rating is the max rating (within clipping limits... a reputable amp will list these exact limits) rating and unless you abuse the amp you won't actually be putting 200w RMS to it. you will probably rarely even pass 100w

Unless you abuse the equipment, it shouldn't be a problem.
