I think I killed one of my Treos....

Well Ive been having one of my treos on its last leg for a about 2 months now. Last night I was driving to a freinds house just playing rap at half volume and all of the sudden I lost a lot of output. First thing I figure is it finally went. So I turned all my gains down making it to where the amps pretty much off. Now I go out to the truck today to assess everything and sure enough the right ones not playing. However, I decided to play with the cone alil to see if I could hear scratchin from a burnt VC but I didnt nor did I smell it last night/have smoke/ or could smell it now. So all I can think of now is that one of the wires came unhooked...sounds wack.

Im going home this weekend and Im gonna pull it out and see wtf is up.

If there is something I might be missing or should check throw it at me...flame suite ready just in case...

same thing happened to me, with different subs. It ended up being a broken tenil lead.

haha well I havent really looked to much into because well Ive had a really interesting day with a funeral and birthday party to go to....

any way I doubt itd be a fuse because I have a mono block amp and one sub is still playing. Also I dont think itd be the tensils because they are wooven into the spider. Only thing on the top of my head is a wire came loose but I wont know anything till when I get back home and start disecting shit.

Continuity test on the coil would be the most logical first step, if that's what you are asking.

update:

so I tested the vc and they are def friend...2.9 K Ohms...the other one is a lil fried as well reading 4.5 ohms instead of 3.9 but Im gonna use it till it goes too then hopefully have the money for my new set up..

carefull that the second sub doesn't take your amp out.

if i were you. don't run the other sub.

Well I planed on taking it easy with the amp gain turned down so it wont hurt the sub. however if you think its a bad idea Ill reconsider
