Allright so my buddy wants a new headunit since his car got broken into.

The only feature he really wants is to be able to connect his iphone to his deck and play his wak ass music.

His budget is 300 but its pretty much the cheaper the better. Hes also willing to buy used so if you got somthing for sale lemme know

the main one hes looking at now is alpine iDA-X305

Anyone ever used this unit?

the x305 is the only hu that alpine makes that they guarantee will work with the iphone 3g. some x100 units will work with it but not all, and alpine cannot provide any reason.

Yeah i just checked out this unit and talked himi out of it, since it doesnt have a cd player.

i also found an alpine CDA-105

He wants somthing that is for sure going to work. This one garantees it on alpines site and its a bit cheaper.

Anyone ever used or seen it? Heard about any problems?

from the way its lookin this cda-105 is the best bet

kenwood excelon units, awesome units, a 492(msrp 180) or better yet a kdcx692(240) or 792(330), u can find them cheaper off the net, the 6 and 7 have super easy to use ipod search

if he can wait, they have the new KDCX693 coming out whihc looks bad ***, they advertise them as iphone ready but pretty much iphone will work with all units

iphone will not transfer music over bluetooth so dont look into that feature to much

that is the whole point of the ida line - digital media heads to use with ipods / iphones.
