I understand where you are coming from, but it really isn't about "likes". Its more about spreading the word and maybe inspiring others to be strong no matter what they are facing. Also, it is a quick and easy method to let the kid know that people are behind him or praying for him or what ever. (He is deeply religious) when your mother was sick, would it not be comforting to know people are behind her and your family? Its just a way to show support... not get "likes". That's why I said to read his story and take in what he has gone through..if you don't think its worth an extra click to "like" his page, that's fine. I know things like this happen all over and every second of every day.. this just happened to be a local and stuck out in my mind. I figured maybe there were some people here that would show support. Wether it be a "facebook like or praying or what ever. Just figured its easier todeal with somethin like this for him and the family knowing that there are people supporting them in what ever way. I'm sjure I would want the same.

This is something I wouldnt normally do.. but recently there has been a story of a young man here locally that is battling cancer. He was diagnosed at 13, he is now 20 and doctors have said his body can't take much more. His brother and friends are trying to get facebook "likes" and prayers etc just to show the young man that people still care. If you're a person of religion you may find his story particularly inspiring. If any of you care to visit "Jays Warriors" on fb and like the page that would be awesome. The story was inspiring to me because the young man has never given up hope or his faith and keeps a smile on his face through all of this. Some of us don't have the strength to smile through every day bs, much less while battling for our lives. Anyway, if you have a second and want to read his story and like the page, just search "jay's warriors" on fb.
he died today. :/ dude was the same age as me.

Yea.. I liked it. And unfortunately, the inevitable came along.. It is nice te family had time for preparation though. Although the battle with cancer can be horrid, many times the family is able to heal much quicker bc they'd it have a lot of te regrets of most people with instant deaths.. "I should've apologized.. I should've called.." So I'm glad they had time to spend with him and make sure everything was ready in the unfortunate event.. ***** man. But we weren't put here to live forever.

yes, unfortunately the young man passed today. As was said though, his family had time to say their goodbyes and prepare for it. And as I had said, this wasn't about saving the guy with "likes" on fb... it was more about suppporting the young man and his family as his time neared the end. Its still amazing to me the way this family and this young man kept it together knowing the end was coming soon. Thanks to anyone who "liked" the page or prayed or supported in any manner. I also learned that an old friend of mine passed away today... life is short and tomorrow may not come... but in the end thats something we all must come to terms with.

its a sad story bro, it goes to show we all take life for granted sometime. whats even more sad is that we have some sorry *** cold hearted *** holes in this world that dont care about other people. Prayers go out to the family though
